Turn your heating and cooling systems on early in their respective seasons to be sure they are in good working condition.

Keep your heating and air vents clear from obstruction.  If air has to force its way out, your system has to work harder. 

Clear accumulated leaves, brush, and dirt away from the outside unit. 

Check the air filter once a month and replace or clean it accordingly.

Invest in a digital thermostat and program temperatures for your cooling system to follow throughout the day.
